How can you keep from stopping halfway after receiving the life of Christ?
The water from the rock speaks to us of the life of Jesus flowing, and that rock which followed Israel in the desert is Christ. Yet, despite all the blessings they received, most of that generation perished in the desert: this was preserved for our instruction. The new birth is not everything; we must go further and watch over the natural life that keeps complaining. Denying ourselves and accepting the Cross as a principle of life is letting God become our life, and so being spared from unbelief.
This message is for you if…
- you are born again but you feel you are stopping halfway
- you have received much from God and you want to stay faithful
- you want to be taught so you can come out of unbelief
Summary
Receiving God's gifts is not the end of the journey. Beginning with Isaiah 48:21 and the spiritual rock in 1 Corinthians 10, Pastor Xutene Wanakaija reflects on Christ as the source of life and on Israel's journey through the wilderness.
The message takes seriously Paul's warning: many received remarkable benefits, yet did not please God. It calls believers to move beyond the beginning, guard against unbelief, and receive spiritual instruction. Jesus' call to deny ourselves and take up the Cross remains central. This is an invitation to let God's life become our life as we continue following Him.
