How can you trust God when you don’t understand what He is doing?
At the washing of the feet, Jesus said to Peter: “What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will understand soon.” The Lord never explains in advance what is going to happen to us: He brings us into situations, and it is on the way out that we gain the experience. The Holy Spirit carries the whole program of our formation so that Christ may be formed in us; because of our faith and our life of entire consecration, nothing happens by chance. What refuses the trials is the natural life, which must be handed over to the Cross.
