Why does Jesus, the Good Shepherd, give us His life?

Jesus is the Good Shepherd who gives His life for His sheep, at the Cross of Golgotha. Through the parable of the grain of wheat, the message shows that His death and resurrection produced the new birth of many men and women. The life we have received is not meant to stay in the closet: it must become our life, and this shows in our behavior.

This message is for you if…

  • you want to understand what Jesus did for you at the Cross
  • you have received the new life but your behavior is not changing
  • you want Christ to become your life

Summary

Jesus, the Good Shepherd, gave His life for His sheep. What does that gift mean for the way we live today? Beginning with John 10:11, Pastor Xutene Wanakaija explains that the new life we receive in Christ is meant to become the life we actually live.

Through the image of the grain of wheat and the new birth, this message points to Christ's death and resurrection. It then brings the teaching into daily life: leaving the old natural life at the Cross and allowing God to live His life in us.

Galatians 2:20 gives this message its practical focus. As Christ becomes our life, His character and way of thinking begin to shape our actions and responses.
